Services to Youth
The primary goals of this facet are to:
* Promote early literacy
* Implement local mentoring programs from kindergarten through college
* Close the academic achievement gaps from kindergarten through college
* Introduce and support Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) education and career readiness
Implement college readiness programs
* Increase high school and college graduation rates
* Award college scholarships and build educational endowments
* Promote and support Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)
The Services to Youth facet is currently presenting five national initiatives and two signature programs in support of our mission to enrich the lives of, and advocate for the betterment of, African-American youth.

The Links, Incorporated founded in 1946 is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. The international membership consists of nearly 15,000 professional women of color in 288 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the United Kingdom.
The Greater Pearland Area Chapter is committed to providing transformational, sustainable and impactful services. Our chapter is proud to partner with the Boys and Girls Club of America and the Brazoria County Independent School District to provide quality programming through our signature program “Be a BOSS: Business Opportunities for Student Success” held at the Passmore Elementary School in Alvin, Texas. Our programming initiatives are aligned with The Links Incorporated’s five Program Facets which include Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services. In addition to our signature program, our chapter through its five facets provides programming related to Human Trafficking; Women’s and Minority Health issues; STEM Programming; Art Appreciation and global reach initiatives through Haiti philanthropy.
The Links, Incorporated is built on the tenants of Service and Friendship and our organization contributes more than 1 million hours of community service annually.
