Welcome to the Greater Pearland Area (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated
Thank you for visiting the official website of the Greater Pearland Area (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated. We invite you to explore and learn more about our dynamic chapter and the impactful work we are doing throughout Brazoria County. Our site offers the latest updates on our programs, partnerships, and community engagement efforts.
Guided by the spirit of “GRIT”—Grace, Resiliency, Integrity, and Tenacity—GPAC is proud to be a trailblazing chapter of 42 accomplished African American women. GPAC personifies GRIT. For the past 11 years, our programming has been recognized at national assemblies and Western Area Conferences. We are deeply committed to cultivating lasting friendships and serving our community with excellence, compassion, and purpose. Through our collective strength, we strive to be a transformational force for good.
Founded in 1946, The Links, Incorporated is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women dedicated to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry. With nearly 17,000 members in 299 chapters across 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom, our reach is global and our impact is enduring.
The Greater Pearland Area Chapter is committed to delivering sustainable, innovative, and equity-driven programming. We are especially proud of our signature initiative—STEMulation Academy—Dr. Me! It is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) enrichment program designed to expose elementary school-aged children, in grades Kindergarten-Fifth (K-5), to careers in healthcare, emphasizing medical science, ultimately including but not limited to dentistry, nursing, and research. This academy empowers students in grades K–12 to explore STEM careers, engage with STEM professionals, and develop critical thinking, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills. Through hands-on learning, students also examine personal identity, community awareness, and social justice issues, preparing them to be confident, compassionate changemakers.
Our chapter’s programming is aligned with The Links, Incorporated’s five Program Facets:
-
Services to Youth
-
The Arts
-
National Trends and Services
-
International Trends and Services
-
Health and Human Services
In addition to STEMulation Academy, our chapter leads initiatives focused on human trafficking awareness, women’s and minority health, art appreciation, and global outreach and more.
Built on the pillars of Service and Friendship, The Links, Incorporated contributes more than one million hours of community service annually. We hope you find our website informative, inspiring, and easy to navigate.
